Clarisse Tobia
Clarisse Tobia is a vocalist, pianist, and composer currently based out of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. She began playing piano and composing music at age 3, while her formal training as a singer began when she was 12 years old. She is a versatile performer with skill sets in improvisation, classical music, and modern music. She graduated with a B.M. in Vocal Performance from Illinois Wesleyan University where she had the honor of learning with Dr. Sam Scifres (voice), Dr. David Vayo (music composition), and touring all 4 years with Collegiate Choir under the direction of Dr. Scott Ferguson. After graduating, she developed a close working relationship with Fresco Opera Theatre in Madison, WI, as both a performer and a composer. She also began performing for city events, and restaurants around the Sun Prairie area, along with starting her own private music studio to teach voice, piano, and composition students. These endeavors have only grown through the years as she continues to thrive with all of the above 10 years later.
Katie Swank
Katie Swank is an energetic and passionate music educator with a background in instrumental music and public-school education. She began her musical journey in elementary school learning to play the piano. As her love of music grew, so did her desire to learn to play as many different instruments as possible and by the time Katie entered high school, she was able to play a variety of woodwind instruments as well as the guitar. Her love of learning to play instruments evolved into a need to teach others and in 2012, Katie graduated with a BS in music education with an emphasis in piano performance from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. After graduation, Katie dove headfirst into the world of public-school education and started her teaching career in Eastern Iowa. For the next six years, she educated young minds in a variety of music subjects including PK-5th grade general music, beginning band, middle school choir, and middle school band. Whichever school Katie found herself teaching at, she always strove to instill a love and enthusiasm for music in her students. She formed several after school music clubs for students including guitar club, drama club, and a children’s choir and on top of it all, also offered students the opportunity to take piano lessons. Katie moved to Wisconsin in 2019 and continued her teaching career in Waunakee where she taught 5th grade general music and 6th grade band at the Intermediate School. Katie made the difficult decision to resign from public school teaching during the 2023-24 school year and since then has been focusing on opening and operating her own private studio here in Sun Prairie.
Brenda Weavers
Music has always been a part of my life. At the age of 4, I sang my first of many solos. Then in 3rd grade, I began piano lessons, and I have been playing ever since. While in college, I began to teach private lessons and I am now in my 25th year of teaching piano to ages 5 to 75+. Besides teaching piano, I also have 13 years of teaching experience in public and private schools. For many years, I have accompanied singing groups, choirs, and played solos in church. Currently, I volunteer at an adult daycare center where I also play piano for the clients while they sing along. I am now teaching at Radiance Music Studio in Sun Prairie and loving every minute of it! This fall, I am excited to be offering group lessons for preschool ages 3.5 to 5, but I will also continue to offer private lessons to all ages. Outside of teaching, I love to spend time with my husband of 32 years and my 2 awesome daughters and my amazing sons-in-law. Besides music, I enjoy gardening, camping, being active, and reading. Last of all, I have a fat, spoiled cat named Mia who also enjoys listening to me play piano!
